Summertime in Raposeira!

The beautiful little village of Raposeira is hot hot hot! With all this wonderful sunshine, we’re super grateful for the gentle winds and the refreshing ocean!
But apart from our perfect climate, what else can you find here?

A short drive from Sagres, Raposeira is perfectly sheltered from the strong winds that often sweep the Sagres peninsula, but still kept cool by the consistent sea-breeze. With idyllic suntraps and cute narrow streets, Raposeira is the best place to be if you’re seeking a holiday that combines:

Village life

With a population of less than 500 inhabitants, we’re proud to say that Raposeira is one of the most peaceful and friendly communities in the whole of the Algarve!

Traditional Cafés/Restaurants and Bars

Mix with the locals and experience authentic Portuguese food in one of the 3 café style eateries. For a little taste of the local nightlife, Casa de Pasto Rodrigues also provide regular live music with a wide range of musicians and bands.

Across the road is a really great pizza restaurant, Pizza Point, where you can enjoy a huge choice of the most amazing pizzas in a super cosy atmosphere.

Along the road is Restaurante Marigil - eat from their daily menu, or book in advance for one of their slow-cooked roasts and really treat yourself to a feast.

Or eat with us!
Breakfast, snacks, delicious Carlos-made dinners and bar service are available at the hostel, all at great value prices!

More choices.
There are lots more places great for your evening entertainment in Vila do Bispo and Sagres. Ask us for a personal recommendation and make the most of the hot summer nights!

Shopping

The little supermarket in the village sells basic provisions, fresh pastries and cakes, and snacks and drinks for the beach.
Directly across the road from the Good Feeling is the Artesanato, with a huge range of beautiful ceramics - ideal for souvenirs and gifts.

For a ‘big shop’ we recommend visiting Vila do Bispo - there’s a local Farmer’s Market for locally grown fresh produceand alsoa large supermarket.

Surf and Beaches, Beaches and Surf!

From the crossroads at Raposeira you can head straight to Praia do Zavial, the most consistent surf break on the South coast, and Praia da Ingrina is directly around the corner. Both these beaches have a restaurant overlooking the ocean and you can wander along cliff-paths and tracks for some beautiful off-roadexploring, on foot or by bike.

Beach transfers are free for guests of the Good Feeling Hostel and as we’re right in the middle of the west and south coast, we’ll always take you to where the best waves are, every day!

History

Raposeira is steeped in history – with connections to the Templar Knights and Infante Dom Henrique, known as Henry the Navigator, who is reputed to have died in his residence in the village in 1460.
From before his time, a number of Menhirs (Standing Stones) dotted the landscape in the area, one of which remains standing by the side of the road to Praia da Ingrina.

Nature

Raposeira is within the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, perfectly placed for you to explore the rural and unspoiled surroundings, where a wide variety of flora and fauna thrive.
